A man who climbed to the top of a utility pole following a fight with his girlfriend has suffered life-threatening injures after electrocuting himself and falling to the ground in a ball of fire.
According to NetEase, the incident took place in Jinhua city, Zhejiang province on November 26. After what we imagine must have been an intense argument, the 30-year-old man surnamed Luo, climbed to the top of a nearby utility pole.
While sitting atop he pole he came into contact with the live transmission wires. Witnesses say they heard the sound of an explosion as the wires sparked. Luo was engulfed in flames and thrown to the ground.
Luo received prompt medical care and is reportedly in a stable condition. He has however suffered severe burns across his body. There is still no word as to what the couple had been fighting about.
