Putin: Don’t Blame Me for Dem’s Election Loss

Share X Facebook Email

Russian President Vladimir Putin at his annual year-end news conference said the U.S. Democrats should not blame him for President elect Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton.

Many Democrats attributed Clinton’s loss to alleged hacking of the election.

According to the Russian news agency, Tass, Putin said, “The Democratic Party lost not only the presidential elections, but elections in the Senate and Congress …. Is that also my work? The fact that the current ruling party called Democratic has blatantly forgotten the original definition of its name is evident if one takes into consideration unscrupulous use of administrative resource and appeals to electors not to concede to voters’ choice. Outstanding figures in American history from the ranks of the Democratic Party would likely be turning in their graves. Roosevelt certainly would be.”

Putin also mocked Democrats for the “undemocratic” strategy of calling for vote recounts and trying to get electors to flip.

I must agree with Putin on this one.
