Jon Stewart has been hosting the Daily Show since 1999. Since that time he has won numerous awards, and broken new ground in comedy late night talk.
“During Mr. Stewart’s tenure, “The Daily Show” won nearly two dozen Emmy Awards, including numerous trophies for outstanding variety series and outstanding writing of a variety series.”
But now Stewart has announced he’s leaving it all behind. Yep, he’s quitting. The Daily Show debuted in 1996 with Craig Kilborn and took off in 1999 when Stewart took over.
No word, exactly, according to MSN, on what he will do from here, but he word has it that he has a deal with Viacom.
