The circus that is the U.S. Congress continues to spin like a carnival merry-go-round after the Orlando shootings by a Muslim jihadi loyal to ISIS. Liberals are convinced that guns are still the problem, no matter who is pulling the trigger or why. They are going to great lengths to obfuscate the connections to
While AG Loretta Lynch tries to convince Americans that they still don’t know the cause of the attack, four gun control measures failed to pass in the Senate on Monday. As liberals from Hollywood to DC howled in dismay and Josh Earnest hypocritically chastised Senate Republicans for their “shameful display of cowardice”, a more sinister plot was afoot.
Senator Susan Collins, a “Republican” from Maine, put forward a proposal that gained bipartisan support. Who are these Republican bipartisan champions, you ask? Only the Republicans who have some of the most liberal voting records in the Senate. Per Conservative Review, Collins herself votes with liberals 88% of the time.
During a press conference, Senator Collins was joined by her liberal colleagues and some Democrats as well to pull some heart strings to fool the American people while shoving a knife in their back. Only fitting that during her statement to the press, she parroted the a line tweeted out by Hillary Clinton yesterday.

From The Hill:
“Essentially we believe that if you are too dangerous to fly on an airplane, you are too dangerous to buy a gun,” Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) told reporters.
The legislation would allow the attorney general to block the sale of a gun if an individual is on the “no-fly” list or the so-called “selectee” list, which requires additional screening at an airport.
Collins said the two lists affect approximately 109,000 people, most of whom are foreigners.
The legislation would allow the decision to be appealed. If an appeal is successful, Collins said Americans and green card holders could get their attorney fees covered.
The measure also includes a “look back” provision that would notify the FBI when someone who was on the broader terror watchlist in the past five years buys a gun.
In addition to Collins, Republican Sens. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (S.C.) appeared at Tuesday’s press conference.
Democratic Sens. Tim Kaine (Va.), Bill Nelson (Fla.), Martin Heinrich (N.M.) and Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.) and Independent Sen. Angus King (Maine), who caucuses with Democrats, also appeared in support of the bill.
Isn’t that so nice. What she forgot to say is that it doesn’t matter if they just use the no-fly list or the terrorist watchlist. In either case, it gives the government the power to strip American citizens of their 2nd Amendment rights at will without due process of law (burden on the government) in exchange for legal bills being paid back if the individual proves the government wrong (burden on the individual). Never mind that the Bill of Rights expressly forbids this kind of thing. Minor point to Senator Collins while searching for the Holy Grail of “bipartisanship”.
But, come on, we can trust that the government wouldn’t use this kind of power for nefarious reasons or to silence opposition, can’t we? Anyone remember the I.R.S. scandal? Anyone?
Arm yourselves now, America, before politicians sell us out, fully compromise our nation’s security and ISIS is killing us at will.
