The Easiest Way To Get Rid of Ants – This Simple Solution REALLY Works!

Ants can be a real problem in a household.  They are small, hard to catch, and nobody wants to pick up an ant! Plus, no matter how airtight and sealed your bathroom or kitchen is, they always find a way inside. How they do it, no one will ever know. But as soon as you forget to clean up something sweet – even after just a few hours – you’ll probably see a swarm of unwelcome ants tearing it up to bring back to their queen.

Ants love homes because there is usually food lying around on the ground and around the open space, in addition to having safe crawl spaces to hide their colonies. And unless we have a few tricks up our sleeves (like the one below), we either need to call an expensive exterminator or suck it up and live with about a thousand new roommates.

If you have an ant infestation, you most definitely want to get rid of them because they are such pests. However doing so can be hard, and hiring an exterminator can cost lots of money. Plus, I don’t think you like the idea of introducing harmful chemicals into your home.

Below we want to share a simple trick to get rid of ants that doesn’t use many chemicals and WORKS. Period. Scroll down to learn the trick and give it a shot when you need to!

This trick to getting rid of ants should be able to solve your problem almost overnight, and all you need are some common household ingredients!

What you will need for this trick is:

  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (I use powdered or confectioners sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons of borax

Borax is a 100% natural product that is found in many ant killing compounds, and turns out you can just buy it at the store! Instead of expensive pesticides, Borax does just fine – who knew? I’ve been buying $40-60 bottles of insecticide for years.

To make this work, mix all the ingredients together. Then soak some cotton balls into the Borax and sugar mixture. When night time comes, lay the cotton balls around the areas where you usually see the ants.

Before long, the sugar will attract the ants. They’ll call their ant friends and they’ll make an assembly line taking it back to the nest. But little do these ants know, but that sugar is laced with the poisonous Borax. If they want the sweet stuff, they’re going to have to take the poison with it. And when they do, the Borax will exterminate the ant colony from the inside out.

This works much better than getting the few ants who you find on your kitchen counter. Get them at the source with this method.

People who have tried this recipe say that it has worked like a charm, and they have not had ant problems since.

When I lived in an apartment I suddenly had an ant problem in my kitchen and bathroom.  I tried everything.  I went to the supermarket to get ant traps and not only did they not work, but the number of ants grew exponentially.

I had them not only on my kitchen floor, but they were on the counter tops even inside my cabinets by the thousands. And you can’t spray RAID or any other kind of pesticide  in your food cupboards or counter tops.

I kid you not I was about to move as my landlord said they would have a exterminator take a look at it and I never heard anything again.

This went on for a month where I cleaned out every cabinet of food, which had to be thrown away.  I would try something new at night and in the morning I would hope it worked only to see thousands of the little pests still running all over the place.

So I had a friend who told me the Borax solution.  Instead of cotton balls I cleaned out the main cabinet where I saw the most ants and laid down an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper and poured a shot glass amount over the paper.

It didn’t take long.  More ants than I’ve ever seen came racing for the solution.  The biggest problem you will have with this is having to hold back the desire to kill them right then and there.  But you can’t kill them, because the ants take back what they can carry to the nest and they offer it up to the queen and other ants who stay in the nest.

Here’s what happens.  The Borax causes the ants to explode after a certain amount of time, which is great because the timing allows them to make it back to the nest.

When ants die, other ants consume them, so even if the Borax/sugar solution is all gone, the ants that eat the dead ants will consume the solution as well.

It took less than 12 hours and I never saw another ant again.  This trick REALLY works.
