The FBI Issues A WARNING For Anyone Who Plans To Go Grocery Shopping Soon

After a Whole Foods shopper sprayed an unknown liquid onto food products in the grocery store, the FBI is searching for the man who contaminated the food supply.

Surveillance footage caught the man putting the unidentified substance on various products at the Whole Foods Market in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The FBI is taking this threat very seriously.

Spokesperson for the FBI, Jill Washburn, believes the surveillance photos will help find the perpetrator.

“We do not know what the substance was,” Washburn said, according to MLive. “The only thing that he was seen sprinkling the substance on was food.”

When an employee noticed a man pouring liquid onto items at the food bars, she alerted management, Whole Food Market Public Relations representative Allison Phelps said.

“Out of an abundance of caution, all salad and hot food bars were immediately closed down at the store, all food was thrown out and the store team thoroughly cleaned and sanitized all food stations, equipment and serving utensils before restocking with fresh items,” Phelps wrote in an email.

Whole Foods is working hand-in-hand with the brave officers of the Ann Arbor police department to locate the man in question.

Tests indicate that the unknown substance is not harmful, though Washburn has not “unequivocally” confirmed that shoppers shouldn’t be worried.

Some shoppers are wondering if that has happened before and are concerned over the quality and safety of the food they find at Whole Foods. Others are concerned that there has been happening at Whole Foods locations across the nation. Do you think it is safe to continue shopping there?

The FBI first needs to talk to the suspect before determining whether or not to charge him.

“I think we need to speak with him first,” she said. “The photos are relatively clear, so someone should be able to notice who it is.”
