Donald Trump made headlines simply by visiting the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City. However, it’s what he left behind that really had jaws dropping.
According to the New York Post, the GOP presidential candidate and billionaire real estate mogul left behind a $100,000 donation to the museum after his Saturday visit. He also managed to use the visit to the 9/11 to take a swipe at Sen. Ted Cruz’s infamous “New York values”remark in a statement released by the Trump campaign.
“Mr. and Mrs. Trump were proud to pay their respects at the 9/11 Memorial Museum today in downtown Manhattan,” a statement from the Trump campaign read. “They were given a tour by museum President and CEO Joe Daniels, along with other museum officials and representatives of the NYPD and PAPD (Port Authority Police Department).”
“They were incredibly impressed with the museum, a monument representative of all of the wonderful people who tragically lost their lives and the families who have suffered so greatly.
“It is also symbolic of the strength of our country, and in particular New Yorkers, who have done such an incredible job rebuilding that devastated section of our city.
