President Trump responded to the tragic mass shooting this past weekend from both El Paso and Dayton, in a series of tweets that suggested pairing “strong background checks” in addition to“much needed immigration reform” in new legislation:
Here are the tweets.
We cannot let those killed in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, die in vain. Likewise for those so seriously wounded. We can never forget them, and those many who came before them. Republicans and Democrats must come together and get strong background checks, perhaps marrying….

….this legislation with desperately needed immigration reform. We must have something good, if not GREAT, come out of these two tragic events!

Now, before people jump to conclusions about his verbiage concerning “strong background checks”, it may not mean what Democrats are thinking. Trump has been a long proponent of stricter mental health checks, as he has said often in the past.
The president has also suggested that the news media “has contributed greatly” to the division and constant rage in the country. Those in the media should practice being more biased instead of fanning the flames of division or the conditions in our country will only deteriorate more.
The Media has a big responsibility to life and safety in our Country. Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years. News coverage has got to start being fair, balanced and unbiased, or these terrible problems will only get worse!
