An ex-convict shot and killed a NYPD sergeant from two feet away and seriously wounded a second officer as the patrolmen  approached his car last Friday in the Bronx.

The assailant was blasted in a rain of weapon fire. The pictures below show his body hanging out of the window of his vehicle.

Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, 41, was fatally wounded in the chest and head during the exchange of gunfire.

Tuozzolo was a 19-year veteran of the police force. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, and two sons — ages 3 and 4 — in Huntington, L.I.

The second officer — Sgt. Emmanuel Kwo, 30 — was shot in his right leg, but is expected to survive following the attack that occurred at approximately  3 pm in Van Nest.

The whole thing erupted after the armed assailant broke into the apartment where his ex- wife had been staying with their three year-old son and another female on Beach Ave. near Merrill St. in Van Nest, police stated.

This is the cop killer, Manual Rosales. He had been arrested two times earlier this year for domestic violence in Suffolk County.

His mother in law made this statement to “The Daily News” following the incident…“He was my son in law, unfortunately,” she said. “I’ve seen all the results of his violence. He was a very violent person and I’m so sorry this happened to the officers. . . . He violated an order of protection and nobody took it seriously.”

Donald Trump had this to say after hearing about the violence while he was at a rally in Washington… “Just now, just a couple of hours ago, two New York City police officers, supposed to be two great people, were shot in the Bronx,” Trump said. “Badly, badly shot. We send our thoughts and prayers to the officers and their families.”

There have been 115 officers killed in the line of duty this year alone. A list of their names and where they came from can be found here.

Below is a series of images that were taken as this past tragedy unfolded. I want to warn you however that some of these images are extremely graphic.

This kind of violence has to stop, but unfortunately, I feel it’s only going to continue to escalate. Let us take a moment today to think about the wife and children that Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo left behind last Friday afternoon. Thank you for your service Sergeant Tuozzlo, RIP.
