First, let me say I am not trying to justify the cops automatically and I am not prejudging Terence Crutcher from Tulsa, Oklahoma. What I am saying is that there is more to the story than the media is telling. We need to wait until all the facts are in. Then we can see where we are at.
So, what aren’t we being told? How about the fact that Crutcher was doing PCP, a harsh drug that makes you belligerent and sometimes violent. The police kept giving him orders and he ignored them all. And most importantly, just before he was shot, he reached his entire upper body into his vehicle that could make the police very nervous. The video you will see here shows Crutcher reaching into his vehicle and the police ordering him not to. However, it was taken by a helicopter as it circled the incident below and you don’t see the actual moment he was shot.
In this video, you do see him as he raises his arms but the police block your view of what happenes between then and the moment he was shot?
In this video, you see him with his hands raised walking away from the police but walking to his car and he lowers his arms and reaches into his vehicle and he was shot right after that. The police did not shoot him while his arms were in the air as we were told by the media. I don’t find this as definitive either way. We need to wait and see all the facts before we condemn anyone.
But I am skeptical since the original story does not match what I see.
