[VIDEO] Emergency Landing at SA Airport After Pilot Declares In-Air Emergency

A plane made an emergency landing at San Antonio International Airport Sunday. The pilot declared an in-flight emergency after the plane began having issues with its landing gear, an official with San Antonio International Airport said.

All runways at the airport have been closed to traffic while responders remain at the scene. It is unclear when air traffic will resume. People with flights in and out of the airport are urged to contact their airline.

A spokesman with San Antonio Fire Department said the plane landed without its landing gear an the nose of the aircraft collapsed.

According to local media, the front landing gear collapsed and the aircraft crash-landed.

55 people were evacuated from the plane–multiple reportedly suffered sprained ankles.

Several emergency responders were on scene.

No fire was reported.

The airport is located in Uptown San Antonio, about 8 miles north of Downtown San Antonio.
