I cannot remember in my lifetime when a film premiering at Cannes was about corruption from a political figure. What’s more, that film is about a presidential candidate. The US premiere will be during the Democratic National Convention. The book, whose full name is Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich was written by Peter Schweizer, became a best seller. Breitbart has aided in the production of the movie.
The movie lists all the US corporations who made donations to the Clinton Foundation and received favored treatment by the Clinton State Department. Countries, too. It also details the “Clinton University” that hired Bill and instead of receiving steep cuts like other for profit universities, it received ever increasing federal dollars including a grant directly from the State Department.
Here is the trailer that will appear at Cannes:
The full movie will not be viewed directly at Cannes but will receive a showing for distributors only. Bernie Sanders has been afraid to use the accusations in the book against Clinton, but she can’t expect the same from Donald Trump. You can expect to hear him pound away at Clinton for the extremely high number of quid pro quo deals during her time as Secretary of State. Clinton has already vowed to keep the Clinton Foundation open for business should she be elected president.
Schweizer’s book has been discussed on numerous television news and opinion shows:
