A female Navy recruit decided it would be fun to sit out the national anthem and give the BLM salute and video tape it. One major flaw in her plan is that as a member of the armed forces, she is required to stand for the National Anthem. If in uniform, she is required to salute. If in casual clothing, her hand must be on heart. Her post got 13,00 shares and appeared on a military humor page.
The Navy wasn’t laughing. They have said she was being disciplined for her act but that she will be allowed to continue training. That is wrong. She should have been dismissed immediately for violating her oath, but that’s life in the Obama era.
