People far and wide have devised many ways to counteract Westboro Baptist Church’s distasteful tactics, which include protesting soldiers’ funerals and holding signs adorned with gay slurs and other nasty messages.

But when rock band Foo Fighters caught wind that Westboro was protesting its show in Kansas City on Friday, Dave Grohl & Co. dipped into the old-school bag and “Rickrolled” the opposition.

Which is to say the band drove right in front of the Westboro protesters in the back of a pickup, held aloft a couple of signs — one of which read “You Got Rick Roll’d (Again)” — and blasted that blessed ’80s chestnut, “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley.
