Wesley Snipes knows a little bit about what happens when you don’t fulfill your obligations, having already spent time in prison for income tax evasion. But he doesn’t Blame anyone for the mistake he made and he has offered pampered millennials some really good advice.
No one owes it to you to save you from anything. Pick yourself up! Eliminate the excuses! Stop asking for hand outs and GET TO WORK!
No one is coming to give you the life you want. STOP sitting around waiting for a hero and BECOME THE HERO IN YOUR STORY!
The last three words are the most damning. “GET TO WORK”.
As someone who spent many years hiring and firing employees, I can tell you that what the colleges are producing today I wouldn’t hire to sweep floors. Imagine being in tough negotiations and one of your hires complains that they didn’t get a trigger warning or requested a safe space. Their ass would be bouncing off the pavement within seconds. These students are not getting what they need to succeed in life.
Snipes is not the first celebrity to offer advice to the millennials. From The Conservative Tribune:
Matthew McConaughey once told a crowd of graduates that life wasn’t fair and warned them not to fall into the entitlement trap of feeling like they are victims.
Actor and director Clint Eastwood has slammed those of the millennial generation who worry too much about being politically correct.
Television star Mike Rowe has more than once challenged young Americans to get out and work hard for the life and the things they want.
