The White House on Monday canceled a Fourth of July celebration for troops who were scheduled to attend an event on the South Lawn, citing the possibility of inclement weather. I am sure that anytime Obama can cancel a celebratory event for America it makes him very happy.
He did however continue the plans for a planned performance from rapper Kendrick Lamar and singer Janelle Monae. Not surprising!
The White House had planned a big celebration where they had invited members of the military and their families to gather on the South Lawn for a barbecue and fireworks. This is disappointing to our servicemen and their families.
I am quite sure that the White House has alternate accommodations, they could have still had the barbecue inside, but then again why on earth would Obama celebrate our military? He never has before. I am beyond excited to see him leave the office soon.
