Christian College Opens America’s FIRST Anti-Terrorist, On-Campus Shooting Range

Every single inch of America’s homeland is a potential target for radical Islamic terrorism including college campuses. Liberty University officials have decided that their students will be prepared should terrorism attacks surface on their campus by opening the nation’s first anti-terrorist on-campus shooting range, according to the Christian Post.

The conservative Evangelical Christian will not allow another Ohio state incident to be repeated on its campus. On November 28, Somali born Ohio State student Abdul Razak Ali Artan

plowed through a group on the campus with his vehicle.  He exited his car and began stabbing people before being shot dead by a campus police officer. 10 victims were injured in the terrorist attack. If the Ohio State University campus officer had not been present more injuries or even deaths could have been the tragic result.

The deceased student was according to law enforcement officials inspired by both dead Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki as well as ISIS, based upon his Facebook posting.  Perhaps the best reason for preparing college students against terrorism is the April 16, 2007 Virginia Tech shooting, where Seung-Hui Cho, a senior at Virginia Tech, shot and killed 32 people and wounded 17 others in two separate attacks.

The Liberty University on-campus shooting range proposal is expected to showcase several shotgun ranges, stands for shooting sports and feature a 100, 200, and 300-yard rifle range.  Although approximately 30 universities own outdoor shooting facilities off campus, Liberty University will be the first in the nation to have the facilities on campus. Liberty University President Falwell stressed, that, “This is one of the examples of how Liberty is unique and different,” according to the Christian Post.

In addition, students will benefit from the university being the first in America to have nationally recognized ranges that meet NRA and NCAA guideline standards.

Students are welcoming the on-campus gun range which is expected to open in the fall of 2017. Students at Liberty for Gun Rights founder Jordan Stein acknowledged, “Liberty has a strong passion for the Second Amendment and a great respect for firearms.” He added “It will continue that tradition and teach how to responsibly use firearms and to responsibly use them for good and the defense of others” reported the Christian Post.
