Why The REAL ‘War on Women’ is Gun Control

Guns and the War on Women were in the cross-hairs of Thursday’s edition of The Kelly File on Fox News.  Dana Loesch and Nomiki Konst took opposite sides of the gun debate following Saturday’s mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub. One woman knew what she was talking about. The other didn’t have a clue. (We’ll get to that in a minute. Hang on.)

Host Megyn Kelly opened the segment with an audio clip from radio talk show host Howard Stern, Howard Stern Delivers Pro-Gun Stance Following Orlando Terror Attack. Stern begins by saying:

“I’m so upset about Orlando and what went down, but I can’t believe these people would come out afterward and their answer to Orlando is to take away guns from the public.”

Stern goes on to equate the gun-grabbing mob mentality with taking away the ability of sheep to protect themselves from wolves.

Following the clip, Kelly posts three cartoons of terrorists guffawing at “Gun Free Zone” signage. She then tosses a softball question to Konst, asking Ms. Gun Grabber who’s more likely to abide by The World’s Dumbest Sign – terrorists or law-abiding citizens.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that your average fourth grader could probably handle this interrogatory without breaking a sweat. Konst, however, side-steps neatly.

Instead of answering the question, Konst pivots to Gun-owning rednecks are just too stupid to know what’s good for you, you peons, you. You need Big Brother to protect you from yourselves. Cuz Big Bro know best.

Konst then launches into an FBI report and pontificates ad nauseum about how the Average Joe or Josephine can’t be trusted with responsible gun ownership. Is too brainless to get proper training. You better rely on The Professionals – and only The Professionals – to defend you and your fam, babe. “Because of stress.”

Like that’s not patronizing or anything.

Okay. Okay, So Konst didn’t use those exact words. But that’s the gist of her argument. It’s typical among gun-grabbing elitists, most of whom can afford to hire private gun-toting security.

Loesch disagrees with Konst’s conclusions regarding the FBI report cited.  Loesch notes that “concealed carry and firearms is a great deterrent to crime.” She adds, “I want to have a fighting chance because criminals and terrorists don’t pay attention to Gun Free Zones.”

This little detail seems to elude Konst. Apparently fourth graders were in short supply during this segment.

Loesch challenges Konst on gun grabs and the AR-15. At about 3:00 in the video. Might as well debate a potted plant. It kind of goes sideways from there:

Loesch is familiar with firearms. Konst may have read about them in Vogue.

When Loesch points out that talking about banning an AR-15 is a “War on Women” because that firearm is “the most popular rifle with women,” Konst can’t or won’t follow the bouncing ball. She does what every DemoLib does when they can’t follow a bouncing anything: She loses it.

Betcha didn’t see that comin’.

Now. Don’t you wish the back-and-forth had continued? I see those hands. Well, don’t worry. I’ve gotcha covered. Because Loesch is spot-on. There is indeed a War on Women in this country. But it’s not the pseudo equal pay fluff stuff ladled out by The Man Who Would Be king and his DemoLib minions. Nope. The real War on Women is about “gun control.” Given a nano-second, in fact, your average fourth grader can probably figure out that gun control is sexist. Here’s why (the micro version):

Generally speaking, if your average woman gets in a physical altercation with your average man, she’s going to lose. And unless she’s an Amazon or Mama Godzilla on steroids, there’s only one sure-fire way (pun intended) for her to equalize the field if faced with a male assailant intent on grave bodily harm: Sam Colt. Or Smith & Wesson. Ruger. Beretta. Sig Sauer.

Not to belabor the obvious or anything, but take a quick gander at: Islamic Invasion Pulls Trigger: Europe Now Scrambles for Guns. A few excerpts:

“People want to protect themselves,” Mayer said. “Nonetheless, the most common purchasers of arms are primarily Austrian women.”

A Czech TV report confirms that long guns – shotguns and rifles – have been flying off the shelves in Austria, and Austrians who haven’t already purchased a gun may not have a chance to get one for some time. They’re all sold out.

And those arming themselves are primarily women. (Emphasis mine.) …

Until the refugees started flooding Europe, it was mostly hunters and sport shooters who purchased firearms. Now, people are seeking weapons for self-defense because they are worried about their personal safety. Most have never used a gun before.

Alan Gottlieb, executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation, said he recently returned from a gun rights event in Europe. Here’s what he had to say:

“I just returned from a gun rights meeting in Belgium, and I can attest that all over Europe people now want the means to defend themselves, Self-defense is no longer a dirty word. In countries like Austria, where it is still legal to own a firearm, gun sales are at record levels. I can tell you first-hand that people in Europe now wish they had a Second Amendment.”

In the same article, Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America observed:

“Polish King John Sobieski defeated the Muslim invaders at the gates of Vienna in 1683. Another Muslim invasion is underway and Austrians are alarmed, hence their run on gun stores. Women are right to be concerned in view of the Muslim view of women that they are good for raping and little else.”

Some American women understand this and they’re not shy about saying Not On My Watch. Or taking their personal safety and their family’s safety seriously. In fact, women gun owners and shooters are the largest and fastest growing demographic in the sport. There’s a reason for that. Read the headlines lately? Hello?

As the saying goes, “Abe Lincoln may have freed all men, but Sam Colt made them equal.” In today’s lingo, the REAL “War on Women” isn’t economic, professional, Planned Parenthood-ish, or “equal pay for equal work.” As Loesch started to point out, it’s gun control.

Here’s more why (the short version):

  • “Gun control” is inherently unequal. See above.
  • When lefty lawmakers shill about restricting, impinging, undercutting, diluting, infringing or otherwise making it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to own or afford a firearm and ammo, they’re curtailing a woman’s ability to protect herself.
  • Placing obstacles to responsible firearms ownership for anyone reduces their ability to protect themselves. In the case of women, doing so effectively promotes gender inequality. (Amazons or Mama Godzillas need not worry.)
  • When Di Fi, Shrillary Clinton & Co. carp about legislation limiting magazine capacity, expanded background checks, liability insurance and the like for law-abiding citizens, they’re taking aim at women in far greater numbers than men.
  • When gun-grabbing lawmakers or presidential candidates (hi, Hillary) try to make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to arm themselves, they’re hamstringing a “woman’s right to choose” how she defends herself. (Talk about liberal hypocrisy. But I repeat myself.)
  • What “gun control” bots are effectively advocating is that women become prey for any male predator who’s bigger, heavier, and stronger. And stay that way. See above again.

If that’s not “sexist,” what is?
