Woman Sends Driver a Signal… He gets message and Calls 911

A UPS driver faced a drastic change in routine when he saw a package that had “call 911” scrawled on the top. Because of his dedication in helping, a woman who had been held captive in her own home and sexually assaulted was saved from her abuser.

The driver called authorities after making a scheduled stop for a package pickup in Robertsville, Missouri, when he saw the message on the package. A SWAT team was sent to the house, and eventually took 33-year-old James Tyler Jordan into custody, police explained.

According to the woman, her husband refused to let her leave their home, and physically and sexually abused her. When the UPS driver arrived that day, she explains that Jordan was holding a gun to her head and threatening to kill both of them.

Court documents also show that there was a three-year-old child in the home and that on that day, he had been locked in his room for 15 hours without food or water.

UPS has praised this driver, explaining that “they are grateful this UPS driver, with more than a decade of service, followed protocol when he saw a customer in distress and contacted authorities after he saw her message to contact 9-1-1.”

Jordan is charged with domestic assault, sodomy without consent, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child and is held on a $100,000 bond.

The painful ordeal this woman and child had to endure and their escape proves that life can throw impossible challenges in a person’s life. The UPS driver has become an angel for these two, and they can now escape their nightmare for a new life without their abuser.
