Jamel Chandler, 21 year old, who was a suspect in a livery car driver’s robbery, was disputedly terrified when the local police came to his door while he was trying to do a Facebook live session.
According to reports, Chandler had tried to climb out of an 11-story window in Brooklyn with a rope that was created by twisting leopard print bed sheets together.
Unfortunately for our adventurer menace, the rope did not hold his weight enough for long and he unsuspectedly fell to his death just shortly after climbing out the 11-story window. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Just before his untimely death, Chandler, who posted under the name Mell DeCaprio, took to Facebook Live and was caught saying, “Cops is at my door. They looking for me right now. They about to arrest me … I’m about to get arrested, they’re about to lock me up. Tune in, tune in, tune in.”
“I’m about to go to jail … and I ain’t been home a whole month,” he said. “I’m about to jump out the window. I’m on the 11th floor. I’m about to jump, bro, jump. If you want to jump, let me know. They right there bro.”
When the local authorities found out about the Facebook live broadcast, they stayed outside the door of Chandler’s apartment, while a sergeant and two other local officers rushed down to the ground floor to go outside just in time to see Chandler fall from about the seventh floor.
Chandler had only just gotten out of prison, was recently freed after serving a four-year prison sentence. He was convicted of grand larceny for taking people’s wallets while asking them to sign fake petitions.
Chandler was staying with a friend and sleeping on the couch. That friend was taken into custody in relation to the robbery, according to local reports and authorities.
