A police shooting in Minneapolis catapulted the already destroyed city from last year’s riots into more destruction on Sunday night. Duane Wright was shot and killed by a police officer after being pulled over for driving on expired tags. The police officer who was wearing a body cam captured the tragic moment on video and gives further context to the shooting.
In the recently released video, the female officer is heard shouting “taser, taser” after Wright jumped back into his vehicle attempting to drive off while the officers were arresting him.
Sadly, the officer was holding a handgun instead of the taser.
“Oh sh–t,” the officer said as Wright drove off. “I just shot him!”

The black man who died during a traffic stop in Minnesota was fatally shot by an officer who mistook her gun for a Taser, officials said Monday, as they played body camera footage from the incident for the first time.
Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said Daunte Wright died as a result of “an accidental discharge” by the officer, adding that the cop has been placed on administrative leave.
Bodycam footage of the incident played during a press conference showed Wright stepping out of his car, then leaping back in and driving off.
“Oh sh–t,” the officer is heard saying on the video. “I just shot him!”
Gannon said he was unaware whether a weapon was found in Wright’s car.
“It appeared to me in the video that the individual was trying to get back into his car to leave,” Gannon said.
The police briefing came as city business owners were still cleaning up after a new round of looting and clashes between protestors and police over Wright’s shooting in the fractured Minnesota community.

The guy definitely resisted but it seems the cop did grab her gun but I have a problem with the fact that the taser was on her left side and it was shaky that she didn’t know she grabbed her gun and not the taser. Admittedly in today’s America cops are so afraid of using physical force that they are prone to make mistakes. The left have so corrupted law enforcement with their defund the police movement that cops get confused as to what they can and cannot do.
I don’t believe the cop was acting intentionally when the thug was shot, she made a mistake and the thug resisted.
