Bush Family Member Makes Surprise Presidential Endorsement
If you thought the Bush family would quickly fall in line behind Republican nominee Donald Trump, think again. One member of the Bush family is having none of that.
Marvin Bush, brother to former President George W. Bush and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, says he plans to support Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson and his vice presidential running mate, William Weld. Marvin Bush’s announcement came on Wednesday.
Speaking on WJFK-FM in Washington, Marvin Bush praised the Libertarian ticket as being fiscally conservative and ready to cut government waste and inefficiency. Explaining that he doesn’t see either Trump or Clinton as an acceptable candidate, Bush said:
“That’s why I’m voting Libertarian. A hundred percent … both Gary Johnson and Bill Weld were each successful two-term governors who balanced their budgets, so they’re fiscally conservative, and their essential message is ‘get bureaucracy off our backs,’ which used to be a part of what the Republicans believed.”
He criticized Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as “one of the most dishonest people who’s ever been in politics.” (That’s kind of like saying Bonnie & Clyde robbed a few banks. But who’s counting?)
What do you think of Marvin Bush’s choice?
