Cheerleader “Stripper-Hooker Scandal” Rocks College

Honestly guys, have you ever checked out the college cheerleaders at a ball game and thought “yeah I would” knowing full well that you didn’t have a chance in Hell of doing it. Well at one college, that thought, might not have been as far from happening as you would have thought. A criminal investigation report obtained from Coastal Carolina University alleges that some members of the Carolina Coastal University cheer team worked as strippers and escorts.

As a result, the entire cheer team has been suspended pending a conduct investigation, but are still permitted to attend class. There has been no word as to whether they are allowed to persue their after hours activities. According to a report obtained by the media, several cheerleaders involved in the escort services were paid between $100 and $1,500 per date. Mom and Dad would be so proud.

The investigative report also says that Cheerleaders also received goods such as Michael Kors purses, shoes and clothes. One cheerleader was offered $800 to escort a male to an area New York Prime restaurant, according to the report. The report does state that “The cheerleaders would not engage in sexual favors”, but the investigation found “evidence of an escort service.”

What’s worse is that apparently, the cheerleaders ran the operation themselves through the website seekingarrangement.com, according to the report. Text messages between cheerleaders advised team members working at various strip clubs, including The Doll House, to quit their jobs until after a national cheerleading competition taking place in Dayton Beach, Fla., according to the report.

Amy Lawrence, an attorney who is representing five of the cheerleaders, called the suspension “unprecedented”. I am shocked and saddened to see these girls become victims of these baseless claims from an anonymous source,” Lawrence said in a news release. “Even more disheartening is that these girls were not permitted due process in their own defense to show just how outlandish and ridiculous these allegations truly are.”

Apparently, not all the girls were involved in the questionable business, the report found that 11 cheerleaders were aware of the escort service and seven were not aware.

The investigation was launched following receipt of an anonymous letter sent to the CCU’s Presidents office. The letter alleged the cheerleaders were engaged in prostitution, stripping, drinking and forcing younger cheerleaders to partake in underage drinking. They were not “accepted” into the team unless they took part.

During the investigation, a picture of the person that sent the letter was obtained. The subject is described as: male, white, heavy-set with “salt and pepper-colored hair.” His identity has not yet been determined. The letter also said: “several girls” have quit the team “due to these disgusting issues.”

The writer listed six allegations:

  1. Several girls are working at local strip clubs and also prostitute themselves.
  2. Several cheerleaders pay students to do their school work.
  3. A Senior cheerleader hosted a party where underage cheerleaders were drinking.
  4. A few girls use illegal drugs, “especially smoking pot.”
  5. A few of the girls provide alcohol to minors.
  6. Cheerleaders use fake ID and provide it to other cheerleaders and students.
