There are many ways to look at this year’s election.  Donald Trump 306 electoral votes.  That was dominant.  Hillary Clinton has won the popular vote by 2.545 million votes.  Is that dominant?  Maybe not.  She won California by 4.187 million votes.  Throw out California and Trump wins the popular vote by 1.642 million votes.  Clinton won New York by 1.5 million votes.  So if you throw out new York and California, Trump wins the popular vote in the other 48 states by 3.142 million votes.  That would be considered dominant?

Let’s take a look at one final measure.  In the United States there are a total of 3,141 counties.  Hillary won exactly 57 of them.  Trump won 3,084.  Now, that is dominant.

Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.
The United States is comprised of 3, 797,000 square miles.

When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.

So, if we went by the popular vote, 49 states are totally irrelevant.  This proves the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, who would be horrified to hear liberals demanding one state has the right to dominate the other 49.
