Officer Of The Year Attacked By Caught On Cellphone In Tennessee

TENNESSEE – The 2015 Nashville Officer of the Year was attacked by a large crowd while attempting to make an arrest in East Nashville at a low income housing complex.

Nashville, TN police were called to Cayce Homes close to 6 p.m. regarding reports of fighting and gunshots. The video was captured on a cellphone.

Officer Matthew Cammarn arrived at the scene and reported witnessing a man assaulting a woman. Police say a 22-year-old man “aggressively” approached the officer who tried to place the man under arrest.

The crowd then began attacking the officer,and forcing him to run away! This is the second time a Nashville officer has been attacked in less than a day.
