The restaurant, which officially opened in September 2015, takes up a whopping 15,200 square feet and has the capacity to seat up to 500 guests. A spokeswoman for the Palms Casino Resort confirmed to media that an exact closing date for the restaurant had not yet been set, but would be sometime in mid-May. In her statement, she said: “Hooters will be closing in the coming weeks to make way for exciting new enhancements we are planning for The Palms. We thank the entire Hooters team for being a great addition to the property’s food and beverage offerings the past few years,” but she refused to confirm if it would be another restaurant which took over the vacant space or some other type of business such as a retail establishment.
When the restaurant first opened in 2015 at the Palms’ it took over the space formerly occupied by “Heraea”, a female-focused sports bar that was open for less than a year. The Hooters chain, which first opened in 1983, now operates over 400 locations in 42 states and 26 countries.
