Here Are Three More Retailers To Enact In-Store Gun Bans Joining Walmart and Kroger
As many readers are aware, earlier this week Walmart then Kroger enacted bans on open-carry in their stores as a knee-jerk response to the recent spate of mass shootings in our country.
Well now three more retailers have decided enact in-story open-carry bans of their very own. The three retailers are Wegman’s Food Stores, Walgreens and CVS.
There’s nothing more important than the safety of our customers & employees. The sight of someone with a gun can be alarming, and we don’t want anyone to feel that way at Wegmans. For this reason, we prefer that customers not openly carry firearms into our stores.

Then the drug store chain Walgreens stepped up and issued the following statement on gun control:
“We are joining other retailers in asking our customers to no longer openly carry firearms into our stores other than authorized law enforcement officials.”
To make matters worse the chain’s communication team then tweeted a statement in support of Shannon Watts and her anti-gun Mom’s Demand Action group:
@MomsDemand @shannonrwatts thank you for your advocacy on this important issue. Please see the statement we posted this morning: https://t.co/c5FvidR0dr

Finally CVS got in on the fun and decided that banning open carry in their stores would somehow reduce gun violence:
““We join a growing chorus of businesses in requesting that our customers, other than authorized law enforcement personnel, do not bring firearms into our stores.”

As you can see CVS took it a step further and asked their customers to refrain from concealed carry as well.
So what do these chains hope to accomplish with these bans on open carry?
Do they think criminals will learn of their new policies and refrain from robbing them?
