Senator Ted Cruz took to the Senate floor on Thursday to deliver a powerful rebuke to the Obama administration and Democratic gun grabbers following the terrorist attack in Orlando.
While Democrats spent hours genuflecting at the Shrine of Gun Control post-Orlando, the Texas senator focused on the real issues: ISIS, terrorism, and the failure of the Obama administration to keep this country safe.
After expressing condolences and support for the families of the Orlando victims, Cruz said:
“This is also a time for action. We need a Commander in Chief who will speak the truth. Who will address the enemy we face, who will unleash the full force and fury of the American military on defeating ISIS and defeating radical Islamic terrorism.”
Cruz also slammed Democrats for attempting to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in the wake of the Orlando attack:
“This is this is not a gun-control issue. This is a terrorism issue. … You don’t defeat terrorism by taking away guns. You defeat terrorism by using guns.”
This would seem self-evident to your average middle schooler. But this pesky detail seems to have eluded most Democrats. Go figure.
Cruz also slammed the Obama administration for its “willful blindness” on allowing unvetted Syrian refugees into the country. He also noted President Obama’s reluctance to use the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism.” Said Cruz, “Failure to address the enemy impacts every action taken to fight that enemy.”
Where’s a middle schooler when we need one?
Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin commended Cruz on his Thursday radio broadcast. Levin said he’s been “waiting for somebody to go to the Senate floor and defend us” from the ruling-class assault on our civil liberties under the guise of gun control.
Preach it, bro.
