Texas Mayor Shuts Down Islamic Sharia Court – “No One Bypasses American Courts!”

The Islamic Sharia Court in the U.S. just got SHUT DOWN and Muslims are not happy. Mayor of Irving Texas, Beth Van Duyne started looking into the tribunal after receiving many phone calls that there was a Sharia Court attempting to spread Sharia Law across the U.S. using Irving as a foothold to establish themselves as the law.

The ‘court’ had 4 voluntary lawyers and were unlicensed in the state of Texas which is a felony to practice law without a license. Additionally the Islamic Tribunal failed to notify the city of their illegal court being operated in city limits and they were not licensed. The city of Irving ruled 5-4 to back the Texas state bill that bans foreign law from the state. The Mayor is getting all kinds of angry calls but she believes it’s important to prevent the spread of Sharia throughout the U.S.

The Islamic Tribunal has a website that confirms the decision to protect America’s court system was the right one. Their website said that, if U.S. law conflicts with Sharia law, “we follow Sharia law.” It also conflicted with American’s Civil Rights stating that the tribunal held separate laws for men and women. The spread of Sharia was a big goal as the site declared that they hope their court will “set a precedence that will be emulated and duplicated throughout the country.”

The Mayor made a public Facebook post stating that she would back the new Texas law. She states that it was apparent that Zia Sheikh, imam at the Islamic Center of Irving, and the other Imams were “bypassing American courts” to make rulings under Sharia. Sheikh demanded an apology and wanted her Facebook post removed, which stated she would “fight with every fiber of my being” if the group was violating basic rights.
