Dallas police Sergeant Mike Smith was going to work like he had done for twenty eight years before.  But unlike every time before, he asked his daughter a question he had never asked before.  He asked her:

“What if this is the last time you ever kiss me or hug me?”

Did he have a premonition?  He knew he would be working the BLM protest and their protests often turn violent.  That night he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he was ambushed, shot and killed, and his daughter has to live with the memory, not only of his death but the last conversation they had.
