Police Arrest Father Following Death Of Twins

How can we attribute this horrible situation? The only thing I can come up with is it is laziness, negligence, and/or stupidity. Any human being with any kind of common sense has to be able to understand  in the summer with temperatures in the 90’s, that it is not safe for any living being to be enclosed in a hot vehicle. It just makes no sense to me. The father has been arrested for leaving the children in the car. So far this year, 24 children have died in hot car incidents, according to the national safety advocacy organization, KidsAndCars. “The figure is nearly twice as high as the number of children who died by this time last year,” the organization states.

According to Fox61:

Chris Hobbs of the Carrollton Police Department said authorities are investigating the deaths of  15-month-old girls as a hot car incident.
Dobbs said neighbors heard screaming and yelling Thursday evening, and called 911.
When police arrived at the duplex in Carrollton, Georgia, the twins were out of the car and in a kiddie pool, where their father was trying to revive them. Frantic neighbors tried to lower their body temperatures with ice packs, Dobbs said.

I think the biggest mistake people make is thinking that it can’t happen to them, well it can; and I do not know how a parent can live the rest of their life without a great amount of regret. Should the father spend time in jail for manslaughter or is the death of his two children enough? I’d like to know what you think?
